Syllabus for Balboa Park Dancers, July '08 Advanced Foxtrot; Choreographed and taught by Steve Showers:Foxtrot: hover to promenade – SQQ man across woman to counter promenade position – SQQ grapevine/fallaway/traveler - finish with woman’s outside underarm turn – QQQQQQQQ develope – SQQ - DC inside (left) underarm turn – SQQ - BDW telemark (with woman’s heel pull) to oversway – SQQ - LOD shape – SQQ ronde – S slip pivot – QQ (to facing LOD) open reverse turn – SQQ SQQ (finish facing diagonal wall) hover to promenade – SQQ man across woman to closed pivot turn – SQQ same foot lunge – SQQ: Man holds (or fakes step) on first Q; finish with Man and Woman on right foot with frames perpendicular) shape – SQQ, man looks right toward woman on S, then looks left for QQ release to Weave – SQQQQQQ (man holds on the slow, then 6 quick weave; begin weave with man BLOD and end facing DW) |
